Robot Cell Replacement

NEW ROBOT
This project was done in collaboration with CMC Automation and Electrical. The 1980's ABB robot was replaced with an ABB demo robot in order to achieve the fast turnaround. This was all achieved over a weekend and commissioned during the week. The customer found our system user friendly and appreciated all the extra features.

PLC REPLACEMENT
The PC based controller was replaced with an Allen Bradley PLC utilising the user-friendly Ethernet/IP system. The code was developed from scratch, main elements tested during FATÂ and commissioned within the week after the installation.
The robot was coded from scratch and simultaneously integrated with the PLC.
HMI REPLACEMENT
HMI was replaced with a user friendly system. Security was setup for different users.
HMI SCREENS
The user interface was adapted with the customer's collaboration. Full recipe modification capabilities given to restricted users.
REMOVAL OFÂ OLD ROBOT AND CONTROLLER
Turnkey Solution
PREPARATION
The conveyors were removed to gain access to the robot.
DISCONNECTION
A new adapter plate was manufactured.
WEEKEND RECONNECTION
The installation was ready by Sunday ready with gripper repaired and ready for commissioning.
